WE DON’T BUILD BUILDINGS.
We create vibrant and sustainable communities.
The very best communities respect the rich historical value of our city, while providing a mix of housing accommodations, office spaces, retail stores, and access to amenities such as restaurants, entertainment venues, schools, parks and open spaces. Granville is committed to providing a true live – work – play lifestyle.
We partner closely with the local business community to promote local business and increase the diversity of retail offerings. Our goal is to protect the unique and historic architecture, improve the appearance of neglected buildings, and to provide residents with housing options that downtown residents have not had access to before.
PRESERVATION:
Revitalization also requires renewal of abandoned, boarded, and blighted buildings. Abandoned buildings are often prime locations for illegal activities, including sites for drug deals and other activities that make raising children difficult and unsafe. We take great pride in replacing buildings that have been long neglected, are unhealthy, and serve as a source of danger to area residents with the safest, most energy efficient, multi-family development. We believe that families should have the very best quality of life and a safe and beautiful place to live is essential to achieving this goal.
GV Urban’s Historic Preservation Projects:
BUNGALOW COURT:
Originally constructed in 1922, Bungalow Court is GV Urban’s latest preservation project. At one time a quaint and cozy community consisting of 7 individual Bungalows, years of neglect and patchwork construction left the homes in serious disrepair. Fires destroyed two of the homes causing both to be completely removed. Once a defining feature, the covered entry porches lacked structural integrity, were in danger of collapsing, and in many cases were supported with bare 2 X 4’s. Over the course of 90 years, the charm of a Craftsman Bungalow was lost.

“Revitalization requires both respecting and conserving our historic properties, and also developing new renewal projects so that at the end of the day you are left with a mix of history while also creating the most attractive architecture for our city.”
– Granville President, Darius Assemi
